Short animation I saw yesterday at the digital film festival, Kinofest, were it won best animation.
Beautiful visuals with a quirky and fresh story behind it, putting to shame all those animations with wild 3D-morphing shapes and gazillions of flashing colours that don’t see farther than technique. Boys and their toys.
Fleet Foxes’ music video for “Mykonos” starts out from that same textured-paper collage and chiaroscuro mix and creates an entire narrative through nuanced backgrounds and origami inspired figures.
