Swoon

Swoon is an American artist working in engraving, street art and installation.  She makes life-size linoleum engravings she then pastes-up in inconspicuous places in the street, sometimes adding intricate paper cut-outs to her composition.  The themes she approaches are directly linked to the lives of the people living in the area where she pastes her work. I think that to discover one of her ‘drawings’ would leave a lasting impression due to the size(the figure is perceived as a real person), the detail and the creative bringing together of the different fragments that make up the whole image, as well as the contrast of the color she uses against the faded, darkened wall.

I consider her a major inspiration because of her skill, her realist vein and an original reinvention of a long and (perceived) as an  anachronic technique.

There are a lot of articles on her work, as well as videos, on the net; best to search them yourselves, as there is no official web site for her.
